God knows that
you’ve been buried with Christ and raised with and in Him, which means you’re
in a very Good Place. How
you feel about where you are might depend upon where you’re looking—at the
visible and passing away, or at the invisible and eternal. One is a tourist trap, the other is
home. One will confuse you, one
will revive you.
I hope you have a good look around home this weekend.
“For
our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far
outweighs them all. So we fix our
eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary,
but what is unseen is eternal.” (2
Corinthians 4:17-18)
Since, then, you
have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is
seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on
earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with
Christ in God. (Colossians 3:1-3)
YES! \o/ And Thank you, Ralph for ALWAYS bringin IT!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of a song I hear quite often lately. " All I know is I'm not home yet. This is not where I belong. Take this world and give me Jesus. This is not where I belong." Last weekend, at a gas station, a lady pulled in next to me and needed a little help. She said " You're not from here are you?" I had to laugh because this is the song that was on the radio that I had to turn down when we first started our conversation. I told her about the song I was listening to and it turns out she's a believer also. We are in the World but not of this World. Thanks for the reminders Father!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great truth and story, Sean! Thank you for posting about it. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteOh my, 2 Cor 4 is one of my favorite chapters, especially that passage and the Colossians 3 one is great too :-). Great reminder :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd Ralph, isn't it a good thing we don't go by feelings anyway? But by what we know as Truth regardless of how we feel. ;)
