In Good Company
Having sustained severe injuries due to a fall on Friday, my mother passed on to God yesterday afternoon at 3:20. As we talked with our girls, we cried and rejoiced that “grammy” was not only reveling in the love and delight of God, but that she could see all of the angels and meet Moses, David, Rahab, Samson and Paul, as well as her own mother. She's in good company, and she has only just begun.
Emma said, “You know how I see Grammy? I see her in a sparkling silver dress that’s too short, and she’s dancing with Jesus. And He has on platform shoes.”
We prayed for my dad, who has health issues of his own. He is to receive a pace-maker today, which we hope will add vigor to his days.
I will travel today to Los Angeles, and Sarah and the girls will follow on Thursday. The service for my mother will be on Friday.
We appreciate your love and welcome your prayers.
Ralph

Ralph,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. Your mother meant so much to me growing up, what a kind,
wonderful woman. She always made me feel so welcome and special. You are
blessed, as you know, to have such amazing parents.
Don
Please accept my most heartfelt condolences on the sudden home-going of your mother this weekend.
ReplyDeleteBoth of my parents are in their mid-80's (Mom is 87 and Dad is 86) and while they are both in good health and mobility for their age, and while I know both will be in heaven, it still does not make their leaving any easier to deal with.
I will certainly make it a point to include you and your family in my prayers these next couple of weeks as you work your way through this time.

ReplyDeleteDear Ralph,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about your mom. I will be praying for you. I didn't know your mom very well, but the few times I met both your parents, I really liked them and could see why they had such great sons. What a huge gain for her but what a great loss for you and your family, my dear brother. I will be praying for you and the family. May God's great grace, peace, and love sustain you and keep you as you move through grief.
I love you, Ralphy!

Dear Ralph and family, my heartfelt sorry for your loss. I hope you got to say 'see you at Home' to your mom. It was so sudden.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it good to know in the midst of loss and grief that you will see her again and that she is in the presence of our Lord now.
Blessings and comfort to you and to your dad and the rest of your family.
Love,
Carla (Holland)
