The Current of Ungrace

What plagues Christians and wears us out a lot? Believing that we fit in this world’s current of ungrace—and swimming as if our lives will be measured by ever improving personal bests.

    i have read post after post about God's judgment... one after the other... we needa do this...we needa do that... we needa do something to hold back the hand of God's wrath...and i'm wondering how come the Lord didn't tell us to think on those things... but He told us to think on these things:
    Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.... oh yeah....and to R.E.J.O.I.C.E.

  2. Believing that we fit and/or should compete successfully with this world wears us out. It induces us to the attempt to live by flesh, which has no life to give us. Exhaustion is good only because it points us to His kingdom of grace and life. And that kingdom is now within us.

    I know that truth from experience. I get reminded by experience every once in a while too. So many of the best lessons have to be taught to me multiple times, cause I'm worth it :)

    Wow Ralph! What a powerful reminder that I can not add a single thing to my salvation....Jesus did it all on the cross for me! I am in love with Him and the spirit cause me to walk more in step with Him daily....I need Him for everything......left to my flesh......I would never look to Him......thanking God for ALL of His gifts to us this morning!

    I was just thinking about the same thing as far as the first half of your post before I read this, Ralph. It can be all too easy to forget we're in this world but not of it. That truth takes away the error and burden of trying to fix or point out all the problems of this world because it is plainly what it is. -Ben

    Ralph, after barely surviving a cancer op i came home really desiring to stand before my Heavenly Father and He be pleased with me. It was like running on the spot. I got exhausted doing nothing, not really knowing what to do lol. Then He spoke to my heart and said,'there is nothing you can do to make me desire (love) you more! i was so overwhelmed by His love for me i cried for days. I am fairly new to the grace message but i am getting it. Thank you for your posts and to those who comment. I meditate on your pearls.
